HALLOWEEN SAFETY

Halloween is just around the corner so it’s time to prepare your home for the neighborhood’s little ghosts and goblins.  Before those trick-or-treat-ers reach your home there are a few steps you can take to ensure everyone has a worry-free, safe Halloween.  Premo Roofing would like to share the following guidelines to guarantee your yard and home is ready for Halloween.

USE YOUR ROOF AS PART OF YOUR HALLOWEEN THEME

While many people decorate their lawns, sidewalks and porches, adding props to your roof can add an extra “wow” factor to your Halloween scene.

LIGHT UP YOUR LAWN

Lighting up your lawn will promote safe passage for trick-or-treat-ers and will hopefully deter you from being a victim of holiday pranksters.  You can use lawn torches or LED lights to illuminate the path to your door. You can also use low lighting to brighten the porch by using jack o’lanterns lit with battery-powered candles.

REMOVE HAZARDOUS OBJECTS

Now that you have your lighting in place, make sure the yard is free from obstacles like hoses, landscaping tools, or any other items that trick-or-treat-ers could stumble over.

For those homeowners that want to go the extra mile for safety, ask yourself if any of your Halloween decorations will jeopardize the safety of anyone coming to your home.  If it does, throw it away!

PERFORM REPAIRS ON PORCH AND AWNINGS

These days leading up to Halloween will give you plenty of time to repair stairs, doors, awnings, etc. Even better that enhancing safety, your neighbors will notice your renovations and may even follow suit.

Roof decor is just one way for adults to join in the festive Halloween spirit. However, having a safe roof to protect your home as well as to support your decor should be a priority to you as a homeowner.   And of course, as you are putting up your decorations and doing some last minute repairs, you may want to send a shout out to Premo Roofing to make sure your roof is ready for decorations and even winter weather.   Contact us for your free estimate.
